ACWF Donates Masks to Women's Organizations in Japan, Republic of Korea
May 21, 2020The All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) donated a total of 20,000 surgical masks to women's organizations and institutions in Japan and the Republic of Korea (ROK), to enhance the friendship between the ACWF and women's organizations and institutions in the two neighboring countries and to support Japan and the ROK to fight against the novel coronavirus disease. The masks were delivered to the two countries on May 11.
Lee Jung-ok, Minister of Gender Equality and Family of the ROK, sent a letter to express gratitude to the ACWF for the donation of masks to the ROK during the hard times of fighting against the pandemic worldwide. Lee noted that the donation shows China's support for the ROK's anti-pandemic fight, and also represents the two countries' care and concern for the disadvantaged groups affected by the pandemic.
Iwata Shigeko, President of the Japan National Federation of Regional Women's Organizations, and the Woman's Division of the Soka Gakkai, also sent a letter of thanks to the ACWF, saying that they are greatly inspired by the sincere help and genuine friendship beyond national borders. They believed that China's experience in the anti-virus fight will enlighten the medical workers around the world in the anti-pandemic battle.
